You know you're a geek ...

... when you ask what color a ruby is, and they say, 'Oh, it's the color of KMnO4 just before the end point of a titration between KMnO4 and H2O2'. And when they want you to get them a necklace locket which has six precious stones/diamonds arranged along the corners of a hexagon, something like -

(image for illustrative purposes wonly. There is no way in hell I'm buying this)

they say, 'Oh, get me a pendent ala the benzene ring, with diamonds on ortho and para positions and the rubies on the meta positions'.

I wonder what is next?

Aniket,

I don't work for M$. And this pendent is for illustrative purposes only. Must be shit expensive. In other words, unaffordable.

I become a geek if I get such replies?
They are more scary than geeky.

thelazydan,

You're a geek if you understand all that! Sadly (well!), I do :D

You can't degrade geekdom by calling any Tom,Dick on Harry who understands all this.. Geekdom is a holy society and the access can't be granted so easily!!
